Struggling With Muscle Pain? 3 Reasons To Try Face-Time Physical Therapy

Blog

Physical therapy is essential for helping people to regain their strength and mobility following a serious illness or injury. However, when getting out the door and going to physical therapy becomes impossible, many people wonder how they will recover. Here are three reasons you should try face-time physical therapy.

1. Learn Exercises that Relieve Pain

During face-time physical therapy sessions, professionals will walk you through a series of exercises and movements that will help you to strengthen your muscles. You will be asked to repeat these exercises during the session, and you may even be sent a link to videos or a paper with images of the videos so you can master the exercises at home. Learning these exercises can help you to improve your muscle tone and support your spine, which can help you to experience less pain and discomfort.

2. Avoid Communicable Illnesses

If you are concerned about communicable illnesses like the cold, flu, or COVID-19, you might think twice before voluntarily going to appointments within a hospital or doctor's office. However, when you have physical therapy sessions from the comfort of your own home with the help of telemedicine, you can prevent transmission. This is incredibly important for anyone who may be immunocompromised or recovering from surgery, since an illness could be especially hard on you.

If you need physical therapy, think carefully about your personal health, and whether or not you feel up to going to the doctor's office. If you need therapy but you need to avoid germs, consider telemedicine instead.

3. Fit Wellness Into Your Busy Schedule

It can also be time-consuming to head to the doctor's office in the middle of a busy day. However, with the convenience of tele-medicine, you can schedule appointments during the day when you have time. You will also be able to avoid time-intensive check-ins and paperwork, since these processes can be completed quickly and efficiently online when you have a minute.

With telehealth physical therapy sessions, they may also have a way for you to check off exercises online and report them to your doctor, which gives your doctor a quick, convenient way to follow your progress.

Don't ignore back, neck, or body pain. When you are faced with a problem, take it seriously and seek out professional help. By addressing neck and back pain, you can improve your quality of life, making it easier to do fun things with your family, relax, and enjoy your free time.

multitask to include exercise in your busy day

As the mother of three, I have a hard time finding enough hours in the day to get everything done that needs to be done. My doctor told me that I needed to increase the amount of exercise that I was getting each day. I laughed at him and told him that I didn't have more than 10 minutes to shower each day. He continued to explain all of the benefits of finding the time to exercise and I told him I would try. I started looking for information about mothers finding time to exercise and found out that a lot of exercises can be done while doing other things. Find out how to multitask and include exercise in your day without losing any time.
